Great questions!

The short answer to the first one is no. Unless you are (or have been) an experienced HVAC installation technician, you won’t have the tools or skills needed to properly design, size, and install a NovusAer air filtration system.

The average DIY homeowner will not have the skill, ,knowledge or tools to self-install a NovusAer

NovusAer isn’t a simple “plug-and-play” product. Every home and HVAC system is different, which means every installation is unique. Here are just a few of the steps an installer has to take:

  • Evaluate your existing ductwork to understand airflow requirements.

  • Select the right size unit for your system.

  • Relocate any necessary power, venting, control wiring, drain lines, gas lines, refrigerant lines, or duct connections.

  • Remove old ducts that will be replaced by the NovusAer unit.

  • Design and install new duct transitions to connect the NovusAer.

  • Set up the filter change gauge and record baseline air pressure for ongoing maintenance.

Because of this complexity, NovusAer is only sold to licensed HVAC contractors.

As for the second question: no, you don’t have to use one of our trained dealers—any licensed HVAC contractor can purchase and install the system following our manufacturer’s instructions. That said, we highly recommend working with one of our trained dealers. They’ve completed our product training, so they’re better prepared to handle unique installation challenges.

If you already have a contractor you trust, but they’re not a NovusAer dealer yet, we’re happy to train them at no cost. That way, you get both the contractor you know and the confidence that they’re fully equipped to install your system correctly.
