What happens if NovusAer goes out of business and I’m stuck with this big blue box?

That’s a great question. In my 48 years as a heating and air conditioning contractor, I’ve seen this problem many times—companies go out of business, and suddenly homeowners can’t find replacement parts for their equipment. It always frustrated me, so when I invented the NovusAer, I designed it with this concern in mind.
Here’s the good news: even if NovusAer were no longer around, you would not be left with an unusable system. The NovusAer cabinet is built to fit a standard filter size: 20” x 24” x 2”. That means you can order filters online or from any filter supplier and use them in your system.
For example:
A homeowner recently bought a house with a NovusAer but didn’t know what it was. Before he found us, he had simply ordered MERV 15 filters online, added his own gasket, and continued using the system.
With those filters, he’s now getting about 90% air-cleaning efficiency—far better than the average furnace filter from the hardware store.
He could just as easily have bought MERV 13 filters (about 85% efficiency) or even MERV 16 filters, which are readily available online. By comparison, the common MERV 8 filters you see at the store only capture about 50% of harmful particles.
So no matter what, your “big blue box” will never become obsolete—you’ll always be able to keep it running with standard-size filters.
That said, if you want maximum performance—removing over 99% of the tiniest PM2.5 particles (the ones that damage your lungs and bloodstream)—the only way to achieve that is with our factory-made NovusAer filters.
And while we can’t predict the future (we aren’t Nostradamus after all), we have no intention of leaving our dealers—or you—in the lurch. We plan to be here for as long as you need us.
